The second ten-year Inservice Inspection (ISI) interval for Beaver
- Valley, Unit 1 will begin on September 21, 1987, and will be based on the 1983 Edition through Summer 1983 Addenda of ASME Section XI.
ASME Section XI, IWA-1400(c) requires the filing of ISI plans and schedules with enforcement and regulatory authorities; however, 10 CFR 50.55(a)(g) does not provide guidance as to when the ISI Program is required to be submitted.
Beaver Valley Unit 1
is currently planning on performing the first ten-year ISI interval inspections after the expiration of the first interval as permitted by IWA-2400 during the r,ixth refueling
- outage, scheduled to begin in November, 1987.
The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that due to the effort being expended to complete the first interval inspections, we do not anticipate submittal of the second ten-year ISI Program until April 30, 1988.
Accordingly, we do not intend to perform second interval ISI inspections until our submittal of the second interval ISI Program.
