OTHER INFORMATION................................. XX REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION PROGRAMS FOR CERTAIN GENERAL LICENSEES Supplementary information: In an April 13,1998, Staff Requirements Memorandum, the Commission directed the staff, in part, to implement a registration and follow up program for certain generallicensees. As part of this program development, the Commission directed the staff to review registration programs for general licensees that have been implemented by Agreement States for applicability of concepts. The purpose of this letter is to determine which Agreement States have implemented registration programs for generallicensees and, of those that have, which Agreement States would be willing to work with the Nuclear Regulatory
\\g Commission (NRC) in sharing lessons learned and information developed as part of implementing the registration program. Thus,if you have implemented generallicensees registration programs and are willing to discuss the applicability of concepts with NRC, you are asked to contact the individual named below by July 17,1998.
Once a listing of Agreement States responding to this request is obtained, NRC plans to discuss by telephone the scope and general applicability of Agreement State registration programs to NRC activities. The NRC will then request to visit Agreement States that have programs of most applicability to NRC's planned activities to further discuss lessons learned and information developed to support the Agreement State's registration program, it is expected that these visits will be less than one day at each Agreement State and will occur during the month of August 1998.
