I Your inspection report to S. A. White dated May 27, 1987, requested additional i
l information regarding our planned upgrade to meet the alarm assessment
]
capabilities required by 10 CFR 73.55(h).
In accordance with our response 1
dated August 5, 1987, the following additional information is provided.
TVA's capital project number 7083, security system upgrade, has now been l
approved for initiation at BFN during fiscal year 1988.
This upgr>de project includes improved alarm assessment capabilities.
The upgrade projtct is i
currently scheduled for final preliminary design activities.during fiscal year 1988.
Dependent upon the results of this engineering' effort; actual' installation and construction activities are tentatively expected to be complete no later than the end of fiscal year 1991.
The continued use of security officers as compensatory measures will be maintained until an J
improved alarm assessment capability is in place.
