I approve Option 2 - Support EPA promulgation of a standard and issue conforming rules and.
Ouidanos. I a0ree with Commissioner Olcus that there Is no compelllng public heelth and safety need for clearance standards.
If EPA proceeds with rulemaking on this matter, the NRC staff should provide EPA with the technical assistance that is necessary to assure that ruta will meet the full range of needs of the NRC and the Agreement States. The staff should work with EPA to ensure that EPA considers regulatory relief for a range of materials and equipment and for all types of licensees.
