Enclosed please find copies of two recent newspaper articles which describe the possible dangers-of certain General Electric nuclear reactors such as the one presently in operation at the-Limerick Nuclear Power Plant.

The first article was published in the Times Herald of Norristown, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1987 and cites a. report from your agency which indicates that Limerick Unit 1 ra'nked 12th nationally in the total number of " licensee events reported" in 1986.

The second article was published'in the Plain Dealer of' l

Cleveland, Ohio and describes an internal report trom the General 1

Electric Company which indicates that reactors like Limerick' i

l Unit 1 are flawed.

I would appreciate it if you would check the articles state-ments and let me have the necessary information for a reply l

in accordance with' existing U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission l
