This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by OIE staff as of 11:30 a.m.
on date of this notification.

BOMB THREAT The Pennsylvania State Police (Bloomsburg) received a phone call at 7:56 a.m. on March 5, 1976 from a man who stated that "a bomb,will go off at the Susquehanna site and many people will be killed." The State St Police notified the licensee. The licensee's security force and the State Police are searching for a bomb. Evacuation of the site is not planned. The FBI has been notified by the licensee.

. Media interest is expected because of current news interest involving nuclear plants. The State of Pennsylvania has been and is being kept informed. A press release is not planned.
NRC, Region I, Philadelphia, Pa. received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the licensee at 9:05 a.m. 3/5/76.
