17-stay of Commission,. decision UCLI 87-9 regarding the importation 18 of South African uranium into the United States.
The 19 Commission is being asked to respond to a request from the

l 20 petitioners for a stay of the commission's September 21st, 1987 1
21 order.which held that one importation of forms of uranium other 22
- than uranium ore a.nd uranium oxide is not barred by the Anti-
.23 Apartheid Act.
24 And two, that importation of South African uranium h.
l 25 ore and uranium oxide which is transformed into uranium l

The second item is SECY 87-263 in the
.11 matter.of Pacific Gas and Electric Company; the Commission is 12 being asked to respond to an October 21st, 1987 request from 13-the Sierra Club seeking a Commission stay of decisions by the 14 Atomic Safety and Licensing Board which authorize the issuance 15 of operating license amendments permitting the installation of 16 high density racks and the spent fuel storage pools at Diablo 17-Canyon units one and two.
18 Chairman Zach and Commissioners Bernthal, C.arr and 19 Roberts approved an order denying the requested' stays; 20 Commissioner Rogers was unavailable to participate.
