(2) Description dl l The Podel Nos. 426A and 4268 containers are used to ship and store g

y new unirradiated S5W Core R3 core cartridge assemblies, new q unirradiated S3W Core R2 fuel subassemblies, and new unirradiated i S1W Core R3 core cartridge assemblies. The 426A container, the i basic design for this series of shipping and storage containers, is 8 a horizontal cylindrical metal weldment 73-1/2" diameter by 226

% inches in length. The container, mounted on wooden skids, is f

82-9/16 inches high and weighs 6,000 pounds empty. The 4268 container is essentially identical to the 426A container in all q! respects except for length. The 4268 container was made 292 inches i long (66 inches longer than the 426A) to accommodate the no longer i existing SlW-4 instrumented core cartridge and weighs 7,900 pounds I empty. The container assembly consists of three major subassemblies:

l the upper section, the lower section, and the cradle which supports i the core within the container assembly and supports tne new fuel I assembly. The maximum gross weight of the 426A conteiner is i 27,960 lbs.

The certificate of compliance has been renewed for a five year term which expires July 31, 1992.
