I learned yesterday that representatives of Suffolk County,
.the State of New York, and the Town of Southampton have been or are being deleted from some or all of the NRC distribution or service lists in the aftermath of CLI-89-02.
I am writing to request your action to ensure that the Governments are not deleted from any such list and that they be restored to any list as to which a deletion may already have occurred.
The Governments intend to seek judicial review of CLI-89-02.
In order.to protect the Governments' rights while such review is being sought, it is essential that'the Governments continue to receive copies of materials which pertain to licensing, including such items as Inspection Reports, any correspondence with LILCO, notices of meetings, etc.
Moreover, many of the individuals on NRC service or distribution lists are not parties to adjudicatory proceedings; so, notwithstanding the rulings in CLI-89-02,'there is no justification for deleting the Governments from Shoreham distribution or service lists.
I am sending copies of this-letter to all persons on the attached service list and trust that this request to you will
. prompt all recipients to ensure that the Governments continue to receive all Shoreham-related documents.
I do request your personal assistance, however, in ensuring that this matter is

promptly taken care of by whatever means are appropriate within i
the various NRC offices which may be involved in Shoreham i
matters.
