NRC BULLETIN NO. 88-03:
INADEQUATE LATCH ENGAGEMENT IN HFA TYPE LATCHING RELAYS MANUFACTURED BY GENERAL ELECTRIC (GE). COMPANY
Dear Mr. Martin:

Pursuant to the requirements of Bulletin No. 88-03, the District will replace Class lE installed GE HFA latching relays during the Cycle 8 refueling outage currently scheduled for August 1989.
It has been determined that there are 12 l
installed and no spare Class lE GE HFA latching relays at Rancho Seco.
Replacement relays are being supplied by GE and have been inspected by GE to ensure they meet the requirements of Bulletin No. 88-03.
Replacement ensures that Class lE HFA relays at Rancho Seco satisfy the requirements of Bulletin No. 88-03.
Future correspondence on this subject is anticipated only if the replacement plan outlined above is modified to include I
actual inspection and reinstallation of the currently installed relays.
