OPERAT10NS' SUPNARY FEBRUARY'1989 i

The' unit: entered the month operating at 100% reactor power and producing.

approximately 880 MWe.

The plant continued operating at 100% power throughout.

the month.

RCp #1 seal leakoff: flows are stable and.do not, demonstrate..any.

indication of long term problems or instabilities. The plant closed the month' L at 100% power.

. MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE During' February, the following major _ maintenance activities were performed on safety-related equipment:

Emergency Diesel Generator EG-Y-1B - The "B" Emergency Diesel-Generator (EG-Y-18) was taken out of. service ~during February to install a' pressure, gauge to meat.ure exhaust pressure. Other work performed consisted ~of replacing air valve EG-V-14BB, performing a preventative maintenance. inspection lon'the "0" diesel fuel pump;DF-P-10 DC motor, changing oil in the outboard-bearing of the generator and performing NDE inspections'on the radiator fan blades. All work ~

and inspections were accomplished with no deficiencies found..The diesel-generator was test run.and returned to service.

Instrument Air Dryer IA-0-1 Work on Instrument Air, Dryer IA-Q-1 commenced in. February.- A new-stainless steel inlet manifold!is'being-machined from bar stock which will eliminate

' corrosion products and allow the switching valves to operate as designed.

New stainless steel inlet piping and exhaust piping is also being. prefabricated.

-Installation work is scheduledito be completed-in' March.
