Gentlemen:
Please amend t'a above referenced license to remove the condition that requires personnel monitoring of individuals in accord with regulation 10CFR 20-202 (a).
However we will continue to monitor individuals at Rensselaer using our in-house - TLD system *for verification as cited in our letter to you of October 10, 1988.
In the event that a TLD dosimeter shows an exposure which indicates an individual should have been provided with personnel monitoring equipment under 20.202 (a), Rensselaer shall report that information t9 the US NRC.
Rensselaer shall also conduct an investigation to determine whether the exposure actually occurred and to evaluate whether the individual should ha.ve been required to wear an accredited dosimeter.
Also, when a TLD personnel monitor indicates an over exposure, Rensselaer shall treat the situation as if it had been registered in an accredited dosimeter and follow all the appropriate requirements of 10CFR20.
Rensselaer shall document the findings of the investigations and maintain these documents for a period of at least 2 years.
