This letter addresses the inspection of your facility at Columbia, South Carolina conducted by Mr. R. L. Cilimberg of this office on December 14-15, 1988, and the discussions of his findings with Mr. W. J. Hartnett and other members of your l
l staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of the inspection was to review records pertaining to the manufacture of hafnium control. rods for rod cluster control assemblies (RCCAs) for Wolf Creek, Callaway, and Haanshan 1, and determine if RCCA swelling was related to manufac-turing.
