CP-88-41 (INTERIM REPORT)
Gentlemen:
On December 2,1988, TV Electric notified your Mr. S. D. Bitter of a deficiency involving W-2 type cell switches.
The latest report on this issue, logged TXX-88880, was submitted December 28, 1988.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Specifically, four failures were observed during the operability check recommended by Westinghouse for the W-2 type cell switches.
The W-2 type cell switches not passing the operability check are in the breakers located in cubicles 3C, SD, 9C, and 9D.
This deficiency is currently applicable to Unit 1 only.
TU Electric is continuing its evaluation of deportability for this issue.
The next report on this issue will be submitted April 10, 1989.
