APPLICANTS' RESPONSE TO MOTIONS FOR RECONSIDERATION OF LOCATION OF EVIDENTIARY HEARINGS Two motions have been filed in this proceeding seeking reconsideration of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's decision-to have the hearing phase scheduled to commence on September 28, 1987 held in Boston, Massachusetts.
One is a joint motion filed by counsel for Seacoast Anti-Pollution League (SAPL) on behalf of SAPL, New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution (NECNP) and The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.1 The second is a motion filed by the Town of Amesbury (TOA).
As has been the case throughout all Seabrook licensing proceedings,.the Applicants' position as to the place of hearings is that this is a matter committed to the sound
- This motion was inadvertently captioned as being addressed to the Appeal Board, but it clearly is addressed in fact to this Licensing Board as it seeks reconsideration of an order entered by this Board.

discretion of the Licensing Board.
.Therefore the-Applicants take no position'on th'e substance of the motion except to say as follows:
it is hoped that'whatever arrangements are made will preclude the occurrence of events similar to those which the participants had to endure at the last ' set of hearings before the "onsite" Licensing Board in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Respectfully submitted,
