SUBJECT:

ORDER EXTENDING CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION DATE FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS (TRIGA : LARK II)

In response to your letter' dated October 17, 1988, as modified on November 23, 1988, requesting an extension of-the construction completion date for the University of Texas (TRIGA Mark II research reactor), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued an Order extending the construction completion date. In lieu of the latest date of December 31, 1988, the construction completion date of Construction Permit No. CPRR-123 has been extended to December 31, 1989.

Copies of the Order, the staff's' safety evaluation, and the Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact are enclosed for your information. The Order has been forwarded to the Office of Federal Register for publication. The Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER Sincerely, signed by Charles L.
