N Thank you for your letter of February 27, 1987 accepting our request to return the CNS 1-13C (C of C 9081) to service.
Due to space limitations for testing and examination of casks, investigations of the CNS 1-13G (C cf C 9044) began in 'f ate Fqguary,1987.
Testing of the 1-13Gwillproceedonthefollowingschedhle.

Examination Coiabletion' Date Soap bubble leak test of the sealed ~~
MaFch 6, 1987 cask at 5 psig for three (3) hours.
g Pressure decay test of the sealed Mad;h 6,1987 cask cavity pressurized to 5 psig for three (3) hours.
Dye penetrant examination of all March 13, 1987 containment welds on the cask body and the cask cavity.
Metallurgical analysis of the base March 27, 1987 place weldment.
The results of these evaluations will be reported to your office by April 10, 1987, so that methods of repairing any defects can be agreed upon.
