Dear Mr. Jurva:
This is in response to your letter dated September 16, 1987, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA),
responses to certain questions related to an-annunition research program conducted by Aerojet General Corporation /Aerojet Ordnance Company of Downey, California. This confinns information relayed to you during your telephone conversation with Ms. Linda Robinson on October 9, 1987.
For your infors;ation, under the FOIA a person may request access to agency records; an agency is not required to respond to questions.
Therefore, during your tele) hone conversation with Ms. Robinson on October 9, she agreed to as( NRC staff to search for a license issued to Aerojet in Downey, California. The staff has informed us that NRC has not issued a license to ar.y Aerojet facility located in Downey, California. The staff further noted that in the event NRC nad licensed an Aerojet facility in Downey, California, the license file would have been transferred to the State of California under NRC's State Agreement Program.
