Dear Mr. MacDonald,
Re: Type B Certificate 9163 I am writing in reference to the renewal of Type B Certificate 9163 originally issued to Gulf Nuclear GNG-20. There had been previous correspondence on the renewal subject between Ms. Cathleen Roughan of our Burlington facility and yourself. Ms. Roughan will shortly be taking maternity leave, so I havt taken the responsibility for the decertification.
As I had explained to your colleague Mr. Ross Chappell on the phone on February 23, 1989 we have had difficulty obtaining the information requested in your letter to Ms. Roughan dated August 3, 1988, since we do not have any of the GNG-20 packages at any of our facilities. We have however now located one of Gulf Nuclear's former customers who does have some of the packages, and we are expecting that they will soon be able to provide us with the answers to your questions.
I realize that our application for renewal should be submitted by March 1st, since the 6 months extension you had granted expires March 31, 1989. However because of the difficulties I have described, I hope that you will allow us 1'
another two weeks to file our submission.
