Dear Mr. Gagliardo:

In Reference 1,

PSC indicated that the Controlled Work Procedures (CWP) Manual and Procedure G-9, " Controlled Work Procedures" would be revised and comprehensive training of CWP preparer's would be completed by March 31, 1986. We now find we cannot meet this date.

The CWP Manual is being deleted, and in its place, two new procedures' are currently being written. G-9 is in the process of being revised.

We expect these procedures to be completed and approved by April 30, 1986.

In order-to have procedure. implementation and training completion dates coincide, the effective date of the i

procedures will be after completion of the EQ Construction Outage or by August 1, 1986, whichever is later.

We now plan to conduct comprehensive, performance based training on-l these two procedures utilizing the INP0 guidelines for training 2

contained -in INP0 85-002, "The Accreditation of Training in the Nuclear Power Industry". We expect the lesson plans and examinations to be completed by July 10,-1986.
