Dear Mr. Rouse:
l The decontamination and decommissioning of the NMDF, Building 055, the Plutonium Research and Development facility, which is located at the Rockwell International Santa Susana Field Laboratory and licensed under Special Nuclear Material License No. SNM-21, was completed dur-ing the latter part of 1986. The decontamination and decommissioning activities had been conducted in accord with the decontamination plan described in Docutaent AI-78-10, which was incorporated in License No. SNM-21, as renewed June 28, 1984. Following completion of the decontamination and decommissioning of the NMDF, a comprehensive radiation survey was made to establish that the contamination in the building was below the limits specified in Table 1 of Annex B to the SNM-21 license. The results of this survey were presented in Document N7045RR990027, Reference (a) above.
