REQUEST TO RE-DOCKET THE LICENSE APPLICATION FOR'THE

___I HFIR SHIPPING CASK General-Nuclear Systems, Inc. (GNSI) respectfully requests that the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) re-docket the application for certification of the transportation package for HFIR spent fuel.

The license application was submitted to the NRC by Dr. Julio Torres of the U.S.

Department of Energy (DOE) in December, 1987, and subsequently withdrawn by Mr. Charles Hauck of the DOE in November, 1988.

By making this application, GNSI understands that the Certificate of Compliance will be issued to GNSI and as such is required to.O pay any associated licensing fees as specified in 10 CFR 170.31.

Enclosed is payment in the amount of $150 to begin the processing of this application.
