NRC Inspection Report 87022, dated August 21, 1987 Reference 1 required licensees to develop a program (action item e) to review, establish, and maintain switch settings (action items b, c, and d) for selected safety-related motor-operated valves (MOVs).
Action item e was satisfied with the submittal of the subject Callaway MOV Program (references 2, 3,
and 4).
The Callaway MOV Program has undergone several iterations between the NRC and Union Electric, which were necessary to address NRC questions and update the Callaway MOV Program with current industry knowledge.
These iterations have delayed implementation of the Callaway Program.
Therefore, Union Electric is unable to complete all the required valve setups and testing necessary to satisfy action items b, c, and d'by the required completion date of November 15, 1987.
It is anticipated that all testing will be completed by February 15, 1988 with the final program findings being submitted by April 15, 1988.
