Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Addition of Food Product Gardens to the Off-site Dose Calculation Manual In accordance with TMI-2 Appendix B Technical Specification 3.2.1, " Monitoring Program Requirement," GPU Nuclear is providing notification of the addition of food product gardens to Table 7 of the Off-site Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM).
In the past, it has been difficult to obtain sufficient quantities of similar food product samples from local gardeners, farmers, and markets on a regular basis for analysis. To resolve this problem, Radiological Environmental Monitoring Programs (REMP) gardens were established. Fruits (tomatoes and lima beans), vegetables (potatoes and red beets), and broad leafy vegetables (lettuce and cabbage) will be raised and harvested at each garden site. Other established sampling sites producing similar food products will continue to be sampled, supplementing the REMP food product collection program.
Additionally, soil samples will be collected twice per year at each garden site. Information on the new garden locations is listed below.
