APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION Public Service Electric and Gas Company Docket No. 50-354 Hope Creek Generating Station License No. NPF-57

-The following deviation was identified during inspections conducted from 1 May 12, 1987 to June 8, 1987.

A. Amendment 14 to FSAR, Section 7.3.1.1.6.3, hydrogen-oxygen analyzer system, states that the hydrogen-oxygen heat tracing system failures are indivi-

dually indicated at each heat tracing panel and provide input to a common trouble alarm in the main control room.

, ~ Contrary to the above, as of June 2,1987, there was no common control I l room alarm for any hydrogen-oxygen heat trace failure. '

Please provide to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington, DC 20555, with a copy to the Regional Administrator, Region I and a copy to the NRC Resident Inspector, R. W. Borchardt, in writing within 30 days of-the date of this Notice, the reason for the deviation, the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved, the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations, and the date when your corrective action will be completed. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending the response time.
