Dear Dr. Murley:
The purpose of this letter is to provide information to update the status of two items addressed in our July 21, 1986 submittal (AEP:NRC:0846T) regarding the D. C. Cook Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 Regulatory Effectiveness Review (RER).
Specifically, we are informing you of an extension of the completion dates for installation of a new closed-circuit television camera west of the corner of the Security control Center (completion date changed from June 30, 1987 to January 30, 1988) and the engineering study to determine how best, if necessary, to strengthen the vital area barriers (completion date changed from June 1,1987 to July 1,1987). The attachment to this letter provides additional detail on the above items.
These items were also discussed with your staff on June 3, 1987.
The attached information involves a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to 10 CFR 73.21(c)(2). As this information must be handled and protected in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 73.21, it is requested that the enclosure to this letter be withheld from public disclosure and not placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
