DAILY HIGHLIGHT - AGREEMENT BETWEEN PG8E AND INTERVEN0RS ,

ON DECOMMISSIONING, HUMBOLDT BAY POWER PLANT UNIT N0. 3 i A memorandum of agreement has been signed between the joint interveners and Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) on the Humboldt Bay Unit 3 decommissioning plans. A stipulation that all contentions by the interveners are withdrawn and/or a motion to terminate the hearing will be filed with the ASLB by the parties to the proceeding. If the Board agrees, the hearing will be terminated.

The agreement between PG&E and the interveners states that PG&E agrees to:

1) ship the spent fuel assemblies to DOE as soon as DOE has a repositor I some other facility in operation capable of receiving the fuel; and 2) y or I complete final decommissioning of Unit 3 soon after shipment of the fuel and I after receipt of appropriate approval from the NRC. The agreement also states )

that the interveners agree to withdraw their contentions. '
