Dear Mr. Davis:
This letter documents deferral of completion of the modification to power the security radio from the security Uninterruptible power Supply (UPS).
This modification was originally scheduled to be completed by October 1, 1897, as documented in reference (a). At the time of this commitment, the design of' the modification was not finalized, and it was not realized that electrical terminations would be required in a cabinet which also supplies the Unit 2 feedwater control system. Making these terminations with Unit 2 operating at power creates the potential for initiating an unnecessary transient.
This modification is approximately 98% complete with only the terminations described above remaining to be completed. The balance of the modification will be completed prior to restart from the next outage on Unit 2.
