nerating plants to begin operation even where state. and local authorities have failed to file emergency evacuation plans.

My family has lived in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachu-I setts fer many generations, and I agree with the reasoned argu-ments presented by the Coalition for Reliable Energy that nuclear power cannot be dispensed with without seriously jeopardizing the prosperity of the region. Ideally I would prefer to keep the li-censing of public utilitics in local hands, but I realize that this is not possible given the irresponsibility and ambitions of local politicians.
