Dear Mr. MacDonald,
In regard to the HFIR cask, docket no. 71-5507, a decision has been reached within the DOE to replace this cask with a new cask and is therefore I
withdrawing our request for review and certification.
This cask has been out of service and has been very recently decertified within D0E.
The DOE Oak Ridge Operations Office has notified this office that the'HFIR cask is to be replaced by a new cask to be submitted to the NRC for certification in 1988.
