Transportation Branch Approval Record Model No. HN-190-2 '

Radwaste Shipping Cask Docket No. 71-9224 Revision No. 1 By application dated December 22, 1988, Hittman Nuclear requested amendment to Certificate of Compliance No. 9224.. The gasket sizes on the primary and secondary lids have been changed. Due to the changes in the. width of the gaskets, torque requirements for the primary lid ratchet binders and the secondary lid studs have been revised to maintain sufficient compression of the primary and secondary lid gaskets. These changes have been reviewed and have been determined not to affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.

Use of the old gasket design and torque requirements has been authorized until April 15, 1989.
