The subject, Mr. Chairman is SECY S7-228.
7 It is a request for a hearing by the Atlas Corporation on a 8
denial of'its' application to renew its source materials 9
license.
10 The Commission in this paper is being asked to 11 request to an August 27, 1987 request by the Atlas Mineral 12 Division of the Atlas Corporation for a formal' hearing before a 13 three-person licensing board.
14 Atlas requested the hearing in~ response to an order 15 from the Region IV regional administrator requiring Atlas to 16 prepare for decommissioning and reclamation activities at its 17 uranium milling facilities.
18 All Commissioners have approved an order, which is 19 attached to our memorandum of September 22nd, granting an 20 informal hearing, and directing the Chairman of the Atomic 21 Safety and Licensing Board Panel to designate a single member 22 of the panel to act as the presiding officer.
23 Would you please affirm your votes.
