perfnnnance of additional efforts as requested by Virginia Polytechnic Institute dnd State University in its proposal dated February 17, 1987 and as revised in its entirety dated April 6, 1987, to extend the period of performance'and to provide additional funds accordingly. Therefore:

Section C.l.4.2 " Task 2--Field Work, Interpretation and Synthesis" is revised to include tht efforts described in the Contractor's rev0 sed propocal dated April 6,1987 which is hereby incorporated by reference and made a part of the-contract.

The total estimated cost of this Cost-Sharing Contract, under this j
Modification No. 5, is increased by $24,933.00 from $776,075.00 to
$801.008.00, of which the total estimated cost to the Government is
$707.,080.00 and the total estimated cost to the Contractor is $93,928.00.
Therefore, Section G.1 "Consideratica" is deleted in its entirety and the following is substituted in lieu thereof:

" Estimated Cost and Obligation 1.
It is estimated that the total cost for full performance of this contract will be $801,008.00, of which the total cost to the Government shall be $707,090.00 and the total cost to the Contractor shall be ^93,928.00.
2.
Total funds currently available fa nayment and allotted to this contract are $707,080.00.
3.
It is estimated that the amount currently allotted will cover perfortnance of all efforts required."

The period of performance is extended by three months from September 30, 1987 to December 31, 1987. Therefore, Section F.3, "Ouration of Contract Period" is revised to read:
"This contract shall become effective on October 2,1985 and chail continue to completion within twenty-seven (?7) months after said con t nc t i <. e f fec ti ve. "
All other terms and conditions of this contract remain the same.
