Enclosed please find a request from Mitsui & Co.. ' USA), Inc. for the export of 3.0 kilograns of low-enriched uranium (19.75%) to Japan for use in experiments on vaporization of meta s uranium.
Because of the end use, which appears to be LIS related, we would appreciate your views in accordance with established procedures as to whether the proposed amendment meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
