Dear Sir:
This letter confirms a two week extension for responding to the Notice of Violation described in the subject inspection report.
The extension was agreed to in a telephone conversation between Messrs. Gallo, Keller and Briggs of your staff and Mr. Hamilton of my staff.
The new due date for the response is October 5, 1987.
The extension was requested for two reasons; to allow for discussion of additional information between the NRC and Boston Edison which was not available during the inspection to compensate for Boston Edison receiving the letter 10 days after the date of the letter (the due date for response was previously 30 days from the date of the letter).
