STATUS OF SQN POSTMAINTENANCE TESTING PROCEDURE In accordance with the plans outlined in SQN's revised supplemental response to Notice of Violation 50-327, ~328/86-43-02 transmitted by TVA letter to J. Nelson Grace dated February 11, 1987 SQN has developed a plant program procedure on Postmaintenance Testing (PMT).

This procedure, SQN Standard Practice SQM-66, is currently in informal Plant Operations Review Committee (PORC) review and is scheduled to be reviewed and approved by July 30, 1987.

This procedure, developed for use by the maintenance planners, 'provides the following guidelines:

When PMT procedures are required.

Guidelines for how to prepare PMT procedures.

Instructions on how to request PMT procedures.

Requirements for specifying PMT in the planning of work requests

+

(WRs).

How to use the component matrix contained in SQM-66 for the planning of WRs.

How to update the component matrix.

Additionally, a three to four hour training class was conducted for planners and engineers specified in appendix 8 of SQM-2.

This training was completed April 25, 1987.

The objective of the class was for each participant to be able to specify the correct FMT for the work described.

This class is being expanded to approximately eight hours with more detail on specifying PMT for equipment not covered by existing procedures.

In addition to those individuals who attended the previous training, QA staff engineers who perform initial review of WRs will also attend the enhanced training. An eight hour pilot class was conducted June 12, 1987, and completion of training classes will be accomplished by July 8, 1987. Additional classes can be scheduled as the need arises.
