r The unit began this reporting period in Mode 1 (Power Operation)'at approxime sly 100% power. The unit operated at power levels of up to approximately 100% power until 01/10/89 when a power reduction was initiated to repair.a' tube leak in the 1B circulating. water box. The unit was returned to approximately 100% power on 01/11/89. The unit operated at power levels of up to approximately 100% power until 01/31/89 when a manual. reactor. trip was initiated due to a feedwater regulating valve failure. The unit remained in Mode 3 (Hot Standby) for the rest of the reporting period.

Monthly Report for Byron Unit 2 for the month of January 1989 A- Summary of ODeratina Experience for Unit 2 The unit began this reporting period in Mode 1 (Power Operation) at approximately 34% power. The unit continued it's coastdown until 0021 on 01/07/89 when the unit was taken off line for the first refueling outage. The unit was cooled down and entered Mode 6 (Refueling) at 0800 on 01/16/89. The unit remained in Mode 6 for the rest of the reporting period.
