DEC 311937 MEMORANDUM TO FILE On December 21, 1987, a meeting was held at the NRC Headquarters office with representatives of NUMARC.

R.W. Bishop General Counsel, NUMARC M. Rowden Legal Counsel to NUMARC The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the formalization of NRC/NUMARC interactions.
Various ideas were discussed in this regard. Mr. Taylor stressed the importance of the process of NRC/NUMARC interaction and stated that this process would have to be open to the public.
NUMARC expressed an understanding of the sensitivity of the NRC/NUMARC relationship and the need to conduct business in the open.
NUMARC and NRC stated their intentions to formulate some specific guidelines for a memorandum of understanding and meet again sometime during the week of January 18, 1988, to further discuss this issue.
