REVIEW 0F FINAL CADSAR - MAYBELL UMTRAP SITE, COLORADO:
The Siting Section staff has completed its revier of the subject-UMTRAP document. Our review resulted in.no major comments to send to DOE at this time. The staff, however, is aware of shortcomings in the CADSAR in two areas.
of technical concern. First, quantitative information on ground-water contamination is lacking.
Second, DOE may have underestimated the existence of-active faults in the area and their potential. effects on the site'. Each of-these subjects are likely to be of concern to remedial actions and DOE should-address them early in the concurrence process.
The review was performed by the following staff members: Lynn Deering, ground water; Ted Johnson, surface water, and; Kristin Westbrook and Joel Grimm, geology, seismology, and geomorphology.
