LILCO'S MOTION FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE REPLY FINDINGS LILCO requests an additional five business days, until Friday, September 25,1987, to file its reply findings, now due on September 18.
LILCO is filing one set of reply findings, integrating its response to the Interveners' and NRC Staff's findings. The original schedule allowed LILCO five business days in order to in-clude in its filing a reply to the Staff. The additional five days LILCO seeks are needed for an adequate response to the NRC Staff's September 11 findings, which are 187 pages long and in various respects adverse to LILCO. With the filing of the Staff's findings, the legal issues raised in the Exercise proceeding have now been addressed by all parties; the limited exten-sion LILCO seeks is needed to parse the Staff's position and contrast the positions of the par-ties in one brief.
LILCO has canvassed the parties regarding this motion: The NRC Staff does not oppose the motion; FEMA (1) does not oppose the motion and (2) requests that, if an extension is granted, it apply to all responses to the Staff's findings;IIand the Interveners oppose the mo-tion and will file their opposition before 4 p.m. today.
LILCO requests an expedited decistan on this motion.
Respectfully submitted, KLEdRI%w Dofdid' P. I/ win V'/ " " ' ' ' ~ /f KatiLy E.B.lMcCleskey [
