Subjec-Inspection Report 70-687/86-06 This letier is in response to the rubject inspection report in which two items of non-compilance were reported.
Our responses to the two violations cited follow in the same order in which they appeared in the subject inspection Report.
A.
The glans bottles containing " raw fission waste" In the hot cells were made from a type i Flint glass containing 10.5%
B2 03 in lieu of the 11.8% specification of section l
4.2.5(2)(d) of the license.
Corrective action has been completed in that all raw fission waste is now stored according to the requirements of section 4.2.5(I) of the I
license.
The proper type of glass, which contains >11.8 j
weight percent B2 03, has been identified with the vendor.
if we choose to store SNM per section 4.2.5(2) this type of glass will be specified and certified for the storage bottles.
B.
The Safety Committee has met four times since November 29th 1986.
Meetings will be scheduled more frequently to assure that the minimum required frequency !s met.

The corrective measures described above will prevent any future recurrence of these non-compliance items.
