I am opposed to this proposal UNLESS there are specific prohibitions against this cargo traveling through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex or any large population centers. Truck-based hazardous cargo must follow specified routes that largely avoid densely populated areas, and that is even more critical for something like spent nuclear fuel.

The eventual location is not the problem--how it gets there is the main concern. A secondary concern is the long-term storage at this location. Once it is sitting on site, this will become the de facto final location for it, even though this is being discussed as an "interim" solution. Storing above ground exposed to the elements may actually be preferable to burying it (where you can't see what is happening to it), but someone needs to make a priority of figuring out a better long-term solution than this.
