Enclosed is an application (XSNM3817), dated July 22, 2020, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, from TAM International (US) Inc. The application requests the export of 45,460 kilograms (kg) of low enriched uranium hexafluoride (UF6), which contains up to 1,850 kgs of U-235, to France first for storage and then to Japan for ultimate use as fuel in Japans Tohoku Electric Power Companys nuclear power plants.

Assurances from EURATOM and Japan that the material will be subject to all the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
