This letter is to confirm our recent telephone conversations regarding a visit by officials-from the French nuclear regulatory authority.: Autorite de Surete Nucleaire (DSIN), to your facility on Thursday, September 11, 1997.

Messrs.

Olivier Brigaud, Deputy Director-of-the Laboratories and Industrial Plants, and Jacques Rabouhams, Senior Executive International-Relations, will be arriving at your facility at ap3roximately 1:30 PM for an afternoon tour.

They will be accompanied by Mic1ael Mobley, Debra Shults, and possibly Joelle Key of the Division of Radiological' Health State of Tennessee, and Margaret r

Federline Deputy Director of the NRC's Division of Waste Management.

We appreciate your offer'to set aside a )rivate~ conference room at your facility in the late afternoon and until 5:00 3M so that the visitors can meet with L

Federal and State. regulatory' staff to. review the' day's activities. The visitors from France will-also be touring SEG, Molten Metal Technology, and the DOE facility during their stay in Oak Ridge.
