Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Docket No. 50-416 License No, NPF-29 Special Report 97-001 Request for Extension to Violation 97-05-01 Corrective Actions GNRO-97/00083 Gentlemen:
During discussion with members of your staff, Entergy requested an extension for a corrective action associated with Reply to Notice of Violation Report No. 50-416/97-05 (GNRI-97/00074), dated 05/29/97, in our response GNRO-97/00059 dated June 30,1997, Attachment i Page 3 of 4, item ll1,1 stated, "The new setpoint, issued per Engineering Request (ER) 97/0377--
00-00, is based on minimum basin level and maximum allowable pump flow. This results in an alarm which will indicate gross pump performance problems or gross system leakage. The new setpoint is expected to be approximately 73 psig. Uniil the setpoint is changed, Entergy Operations will use the more conservative current setting of 81 psig."
Your staff agreed to an extension to December 31,1997 for achieving the new
