Dear Ms. Ryan:
This is in response to your request for the RELAP5 code. We will arrange to transmit to RNI Technologies (RNI) magnetic tapes containing the RELAPS code and a copy of the user instructions provided that an RNI designated official agrees to the following conditions:
1.
RNI understands that the above stated codes are the result of work sponsored by an l
agency of the United States Govemment and recognizes that neither the United States Govemment nor any agency thereof, nor any of their employees makes any warranty, expressed or imp!ied, or assumes any legal liability or responsibility for any third party's use, or the results of such use, or of any information, product, or process included in or calculated by these codes, or represents that the use by such third party would not infringe privately-owned rights.
l 2.
RNI will not release these codes to any third party without obtaining prior written permission from the NRC, and the third party must also obtain in advance written l
permission from the NRC.
3.
RNI should notify the NRC of any reactor safety problem which may be uncovered through the use of these codes.
4.
If RN! discovers code errors, RNI should communicate these errors to the code j
developers contracted by NRC.
l 5.
If RNJ makes any nonproprietary improvements or modifications.to these codes, these:
improvernents or modifications should'be made 'available'to the N'RC.
6.
RNI should provide NRC with a nonproprietary summary of any proprietary modifications to these codes developed by RNI, including a summary of the impact on representative predictions.
