US-IAEA COORDINATION MEETING, OCTOBER 25-26,1999

Dear Mr. Stainback/Mr. Folk:

On October 25-26,1999, the Subgroup on international Safeguards in the United States will hold a semi-annual coordination meeting with the IAEA. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Headquarters at Two White Flint North 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland (Room T-10-A1). The meetings will start on both days at 10:00 am.

The IAEA will be represented by Dirk Schriefer, Director, Operations B; Pantelis Ikonomou, Head, North American Section; and Jean Aragon, Special Assistant to the Operations B Director. The preliminary agenda for the meeting is attached.

l We would like to invite you to participate in these meetings. Reservations have been made for lunch on Monday, October 25 at a restaurant within walking distance of this office. The lunch will provide you the opportunity to meet the IAEA Operations B managers responsible for implementing lAEA safeguards in the U.S. Please contact Brian Horn of my staff at (301) 415-8128 if you or other representatives of your facility plan to attend the meetings and/or lunch.
