  • I PROPOSED REPROGRAMMING Management and Support Program

$3,200,000 This contract support increase is to procure, implement, and maintain an agencywide integrated 4

resource management system. This integrated system will provide for a more efficient and cost effective automated and integrated approach to conduct agencywide financial and resource functions, improve agency business practices, and minimize and eliminate manual and duplicative processes. It is the intent of the NRC to acquire as much of the functionality as practical via the purchase of commercial off-the shelf (COTS) software rather than developing custom software. The current request of $3,200,000 and the previously approved request of

$2,500,000 are expected to accomplish the FY 1998 funding requirements. The total cost is estimated at $8,600,000; of that amount $5,700,000 is being funded in FY 1998 and the remaining $2,900,000 is included in the FY 1999 budget request.

I The FY 1998 initiet and First Quarter Base Table, dated February 6,1998.

2 This change is docussed below This is the total of NRC's FY 1998 appropriations of 5472,000,000 and the utaratcc, of $7,337,870 and propos.d use of s3,200,000 in funds unobli9sted at the end of FY 1997 and carried over into FY 1998.
