EURATOM / USA Cooperation Agreement

I refer to your letter of 5 October 1999 advir.ing the Commission of the request for the export license XSOU 8771.
The subject request concems a broad export license covering natural uranium exports in various forms supplied by various US cornpanies to various EU comparues for a period of S years.
Considering that under the current practice of administration of the Euratom / USA Agreement for Cooperation, export licenses are submitted by US/ DOE in lieu of Annex 1 A foreseen in the Administrative Arrangements, I would be grateful if the subject license could be split into a number of more specific sub-licenses.
This splitting could be based upon the point of entry into the nuclear fuel cycle (ix.
i Conversion, Enrichment or Fabrication), or upon supplier and receiver. The time frame of the license could also be reduced.

m yj c,oggy The splitting of the license will make the cdministration of the agreement possible from the Euratom side and will allow us to give to the US side the confirmations required the Agreement.
