Your Quality Assurance Program A) proval No. 0G9.", is hereby terminated. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished ~a final rule, effectf ve J !ne 27, 1997, revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for hidustr al Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Industria' Radioyaphic l_ Operations." -The revision, which contained numerous changes '.' the requirements, also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC 0A program approval is no longer needed.
Specifically. transportation activities are now contairied in a new paragraph.
10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires ,
that inspection and maintenance 3rograms limited to radiographic exposure >
Edevices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or equivalent Agreement State regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for Type B transport packages.
